The 2004
Summer Institute, entitled
Building Effective School and
Community Partnerships, was held on June 15-17, 2004 at the
Columbus Marriot North. The institute was hosted by the Center for
Learning Excellence and sponsored by the Ohio Alternative Education
Advisory Council and the Ohio Department of
Education.
The 2004 Summer Institute featured an exciting
lineup of local and national presenters who focused on topics
related to building successful partnerships for effectively educating
youth through collaborative efforts, promoting optimal service delivery.
Summer Institute participants received
three days of intensive training on theoretically sound,
evidence-based strategies to reduce non-academic barriers to learning
that have been proven effective with at-risk youth in traditional and
alternative environments in both urban and non-urban settings.
The expanded selection of workshops included
information for beginning,
intermediate, and advanced practitioners.
