Schools Conference

The
first annual Urban Schools Conference, hosted by the Center for Learning
Excellence took place on April 28-30, 2004, at The
Ohio State University’s Blackwell Hotel. The Urban Schools Conference
featured nationally recognized presenters who focused on five different
topics that addressed key issues related to non-academic barriers to
learning in urban school districts. These topics included:

Strategies for ensuring the academic
achievement of all students;

School-family-community-university
partnerships;
-
Parent involvement and family support;
-
Youth development and the prevention of
problem behaviors; and,

New resources for principals and
administrators.
