2004 Urban Schools Conference

April 28-30, 2004 - Ohio State University, Columbus

The first annual Urban Schools Conference, hosted by the Center for Learning Excellence took place on April 28-30, 2004, at The Ohio State University’s Blackwell Hotel. The Urban Schools Conference featured nationally recognized presenters who focused on five different topics that addressed key issues related to non-academic barriers to learning in urban school districts. These topics included:

  • Strategies for ensuring the academic achievement of all students;

  • School-family-community-university partnerships;

  • Parent involvement and family support;

  • Youth development and the prevention of problem behaviors; and,

  • New resources for principals and administrators.
