Ohio Family & Children First (OFCF)

Commitments to Child Well-Being

Ohio is committed to the well-being of its children and families. This commitment is evident through the initiatives of Ohio Family and Children First (OFCF) and the coordinated
efforts of its participating state agencies. The OFCF Cabinet Council has articulated Ohio’s specific commitments to child well-being and those commitments are listed below.

Ohio commits to being a state where:

  • Expectant Parents and Newborns Thrive

  • Infants and Toddlers Thrive

  • Children are Ready for School

  • Children and Youth Succeed in School

  • Children and Youth Engage in Healthy Behaviors

  • Youth Successfully Transition into Adulthood

In establishing these commitments, defining their parameters, and establishing current and future measures that will be used to track progress meeting these commitment, the OFCF Cabinet Council has set a course of improved accountability in meeting the needs of children and families. This course
follows multiple principles that ensure that the greatest consideration is given to factors that impact children and families.
