Alternative Education Customer Satisfaction Survey Results

From
November 30, 2003 to April 15, 2004, the Center for Learning
Excellence conducted an alternative education customer satisfaction
survey of school district personnel from schools that referred
students to their local Challenge Grant-funded alternative education
program. 366 people responded to the survey. These are the
findings:

Over 75% of the respondents “agreed” or
“strongly agreed” that students
in their district had been positively impacted
by the alternative education program.

Over 75% of respondents “agreed” or
“strongly agreed” that the alternative education program had
effectively served at-risk students
in the districts and was
likely to address
the needs of at-risk students.

Over 75% of the respondents “agreed” or
“strongly agreed” that the alternative education program was one of
the best things to happen to
the district.
-
Over 80% of respondents “agreed” or
“strongly agreed” that their local alternative education program was
cost-effective,
that the programs need to be
expanded, and that
continued funding of alternative
education programs
should be a state priority.
