The Ohio Mental Health Network for School Success

The Ohio Mental Health Network for School Success (OMHNSS) was created by the Ohio Department of Mental Health (ODMH) and is led by the Center for School-Based Mental Health Programs at Miami University.

The mission of the OMHNSS is to:

  • promote school-based mental health services;

  • provide technical assistance and training to school districts; and

  • provide support to community-based mental health agencies in designated regions throughout Ohio.

The OMHNSS is comprised of six regional affiliates within the state that have demonstrated effectiveness over time in serving the mental health needs of children and adolescents through school-based services. Beginning early in 2002, each Network affiliate organized Regional Action Networks that are comprised of mental health board directors, ODMH personnel, CLEX staff, parents, and school personnel to further increase capacity and expand school-based mental health services.
